What services does Sunway Logistics provide?
Sea freight (FCL & LCL), air freight, import and export customs clearance, project and break bulk cargo, NVOCC operations, bonded and non-bonded warehousing, transportation, buyers consolidation, marine insurance and packing.
How do I get a freight quotation?
Fill in our quote request form, or send your cargo details on WhatsApp. Please share origin, destination, commodity, weight, dimensions/CBM and Incoterm for the fastest and most accurate rate.
Are you a licensed customs broker?
Yes. Sunway Logistics holds a Customs Broker licence under the Customs Brokers Licensing Regulations (CBLR), 2018. Licence details are listed on our Licences page.
What documents are needed for export customs clearance?
Typically the commercial invoice, packing list, IEC, GST details, AD code registration, and any product-specific licences or certificates. See our documents checklist.
Can I ship a small quantity that does not fill a container?
Yes. With LCL (less than container load) consolidation you pay only for the space your cargo occupies — usually charged per CBM or per 1,000 kg, whichever is higher.
How can I track my shipment?
Use our tracking page with your container, B/L or AWB number, or send your Sunway Job No. to our Customer Desk for a status update.
Do you handle hazardous (DG) and perishable cargo?
Yes. We handle dangerous goods with correct classification, declarations and packing, and perishable / dry-ice shipments with time-critical planning.
Which ports and airports do you work from?
Our head office is in Chennai (Chennai Port, Kamarajar/Ennore, Kattupalli and Chennai Air Cargo). Through our branches we also serve Mumbai, Mundra, Kolkata, Kochi, Thoothukudi, Delhi, Hyderabad and Bengaluru.
Do you provide cargo insurance?
Yes. We arrange marine cargo insurance covering ocean, air and road transit against physical loss or damage.
What are your working hours?
Our office is open Mon – Sat, 9:30 AM – 6:30 PM. Imports and exports are handled 365 days by dedicated teams — call or WhatsApp us any time for urgent shipments.
Services
What is the difference between FCL and LCL?
FCL means you book a whole container for your cargo. LCL means your cargo shares a container with other shippers and you pay only for the volume used.
How is LCL freight charged?
LCL is charged per revenue ton (W/M): 1 CBM or 1,000 kg, whichever is higher. Use our CBM calculator to estimate your volume.
What is chargeable weight?
The greater of actual gross weight and volumetric weight (L×W×H cm ÷ 6000). Airlines bill on chargeable weight.
Can you handle dangerous goods by air?
Yes, subject to IATA DGR classification, correct packing, labelling and the shipper's declaration for dangerous goods.
Which documents do you need for import clearance?
Commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading / airway bill, IEC, GSTIN, and any licences or certificates required for the product. See our documents checklist.
Do you need KYC before clearing my cargo?
Yes. As per CBLR 2018, a customs broker must complete KYC of the importer/exporter before filing. We will guide you through it.
Can you move over-dimensional machinery?
Yes. We arrange flat rack / open top containers or break bulk vessels, along with route surveys and trailers for ODC delivery.
What is a bonded warehouse?
A customs-licensed warehouse where imported goods can be stored without paying duty until they are cleared for home consumption or re-exported.
Do you provide factory stuffing?
Yes. We coordinate empty container pickup, factory stuffing, sealing and movement to the port or CFS.
Who is buyers consolidation for?
Overseas buyers, buying houses and retailers who purchase from several Indian suppliers and want to combine them into fewer, cheaper shipments.
What is an NVOCC?
A Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier issues its own bills of lading and contracts space with shipping lines, without owning vessels.
